Our Mission

Our mission as a local Church is to actively proclaim the Good News of the Christian Gospel to all people in the Cannock area and beyond.

Aims and Objectives

Our aim is to Glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to serve the Body of Christ and to extend His Kingdom.

To achieve this effectively we shall endeavour to:

  • Meet regularly for worship, prayer and Ministry of the Word
  • Give pastoral care as a means of nurturing and unifying the Members
  • Encourage and equip the congregation for Christian Service
  • Evangelise and demonstrate practical Christianity both at home and overseas
  • Fellowship with other Christian Congregations

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  1. We accept the Divine inspiration and infallibility of the Bible as originally given. We accept its trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of Faith and conduct.
  2. We accept the sovereignty and grace of the Triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We accept the true and proper Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His Virgin Birth; His real and perfect manhood; the authority of His teaching and the infallibility of all His utterances.
  4. We believe in the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ, The Incarnate Son of God, as the only Saviour from the guilt, power and consequences of sin.
  5. We believe the sinner can only be justified through faith in Jesus Christ who was crucified and raised bodily from the grave.
  6. We believe in the Person and work of the Holy Spirit, who illuminates, regenerates, indwells, enables and sanctifies all believers.
  7. We believe in the baptism by immersion of all true believers.
  8. We believe in the priesthood of all believers who form the world-wide Church, the Body of which Christ is the Head.
  9. We believe we are called to proclaim the gospel throughout the whole world.
  10. We believe in the personal, visible return of our Lord Jesus in power and glory.

My Testimony

As a young man in my early 20’s I started to think about ‘spiritual things’ I found myself getting involved with Transcendental Meditation which I later discovered was not helpful and soon found there was not the peace which you were promised.

I then started looking in other area’s and was awoken one morning with these words ringing in my ears, “For you there is no escape from the truth” I knew it was significant so got out of bed and wrote the words down (I later read in the Bible that Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth & the life) and sure enough I came to a point in my life in 1978 where I accepted the truth (Jesus) so to cut a long story short I found myself kneeling in my lounge on a Sunday evening repenting from my sin and asking Jesus to forgive my sins, there followed a real change in my life and heart as God began the life long process of changing me.

I became a different person, praying for people, telling all who would listen (and some who didn’t) about my change of heart and telling them, “Jesus loves you” it was all change as I began to read the Bible and to understand words that I previously did not understood. I was indeed truly born again as God’s spirit changed me. I now have no fear of death because my sins, which were many have been dealt with on the cross by Jesus. Since 1978 I have had problems as we all do at times but have always found that if I take them to Jesus he will help me through, to quote the chorus of a favourite song “through it all I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God”

I pray that you would also find the answer to your problems, put your trust in Jesus, put your trust in God.

My Testimony

When I was young I always thought there was more to life, than just being born then to die! I never understood why I thought like this but those thoughts and feelings stayed with me as I was growing up and after I was married and had my children. One day the Mormons came to the door and for a time we attended their church and learnt about their religion we left there however as we didn’t feel it was right for us regarding their teaching.

One day my husband and I found a lovely church in Walsall, it felt warm and friendly and very inviting. One night there was a crusade link up with Billy Graham and I felt something stirring inside of me as I was listening to what he was saying.  As he came to the end of his talk Billy Graham said anyone who wants to receive Jesus in their lives say the sinner’s prayer. I said the prayer and Jesus came into my life. That was the best thing that happened to me as I now felt complete in myself and know that the answers that I had been searching for all my life are to be found in Jesus because through Him we have eternal life after death.

Jesus died on the cross to take away the sin of man and now I have life to the full because Jesus is in me. PRAISE GOD!

My Testimony

At the age of sixteen my Dad took me to the local Working Men’s Club and bought me my first pint of beer. I had just started work in a factory, I remember looking around the room and thinking (there must be more than life to this!). I spent the next 8 years looking for some truth and reality in life

I read lots of books like, ‘The power of positive thinking’, ‘Was God an astronaut?’ & ‘The Magic power of your mind’. I was searching for something but I didn't know what it was.

At this time my brother Edwin became a Christian, he said he had asked Jesus to come into his life, I didn't know what to make of it. I thought a Christian was someone who went to Church; he mentioned a week of meetings in Birmingham Town Hall that were 3 weeks away. I mentioned it to my fiancée Sandra (now my wife) asking ourselves should we go along and find out what it was all about?

We went along on the Wednesday evening without telling my brother. As soon as we went into the building, with 2 thousand people singing, straight away we felt the power presence and Love of God. I knew I had found what I had been looking for, we went along again on the Friday night and we both went forward and asked Jesus into our lives. I was Born Again the first experience was a wonderful Joy and Love that came into my life and Heart.

I am so glad I asked Jesus into my life, with him life makes sense and I found the purpose of life.

Our Vision

Our vision as a Bible – based Church is to be accessible and relevant to the community reaching out to comfort, heal, bless and love others by bringing the truth and life of Jesus Christ and his work of salvation to those around us.

"As a fellowship we desire to serve, uplift, encourage and support each other in practical & spiritual ways, to enable each of us to live out our Christian faith in Strength, Courage, Hope, Wisdom and Power, although not in our own Strength but by His alone.

We provide pastoral care and opportunities for spiritual growth for the Church and its community through a variety of fellowship groups.

Our desire is also to develop links with other churches and organisations who share our values and are equally committed to responding to the needs within the community - we look to support areas of outreach in our own area and more globally.

Please join us for a Sunday morning service as we worship God through vibrant music, prayer and the reading and preaching of God’s word the Bible.”
